Saber's Flag Painting

Saber painted the original Flag in 1988 in his Santa Monica studio. The Flag is tattered and patched together with everything from band-aids to old shoe strings and clothespins, depicting the strength and resolve of the American people. Despite numerous odds and constant battering from our government officials, "We're holding together just fine!" is hand painted across the flag and verbalizes the resourcefulness of the American people, particularly in difficult times.

Saber's Flag has received critical acclaim, and his paintings of the flag and t-shirts bearing this image have garnered him collectors like Willie Nelson, David Hockney, Glen Close, Woody Harrelson, and Arnold Schwarzenegger to name a few.

The Flag is available via commission and can be made any size that is desired, smaller sizes start at $1,000. Saber is currently working on a 36x24 mixed media version, in his Solana Beach studio, available for $10,000.
